planning

Your local Planning Control will determine whether you will or will not require planning permission for Cloud Nine houses. In certain circumstances, it may be possible proceed without planning, however, in every case, we recommend you take professional advice from a planning consultant.

Examples may include the following:

The exchanging of an existing static caravan for a Cloud Nine Bude. This is because the Bude has been designed to technically fall within the regulations of the Caravan Act 1998. The obvious example are holiday parks that wish to upgrade to a more upmarket offering.

Permitted Development Rights can include buildings such as the Bude to be built within the curtilage of a domestic dwelling. We understand the buildings can only be used when associated with the main house. Examples maybe Garden Offices, Pool Houses and Visitor Accommodation.

As you will already know, different areas have different planning guidelines and interpretations when it comes to new buildings. Local planning consultants will be familiar with the local emphasis which may effect what you wish to order from Cloud Nine.

Architects will also be familiar with the planning process. Normally, they will be designing a whole building for their customer, so, in this case you will need to discuss their fees considering that much of that work comes completed with a Cloud Nine house.
